Here are five simple steps, rules, procedures or what have you that will keep anyone involved in a vending franchise business on a path to solid profits.

Once Locations are in Place, Compare Their Results

If you have 100 locations for sale of products, some turn in a fabulous return on investment and some will gather dust. Keep records of your best and worst performing locations. Note the worst 10% of your locations.

Placement is Essential

Make sure that your machines are positioned in as best a spot as humanly possible. Consider where people are most likely to track.  Water fountains get tremendous volumes of traffic. Other vending machines such as those offering cold drinks are bound to attract paying customers. Get your machine sidled up as close to the star attraction as possible.

Choose Your Product Based on a Suggested Demographic

If your machine sells ten varieties of confectionery, and fruit flavours outsell chocolate two to one, lose the chocolate and load up with marvelous mango. Give the customers for each location exactly what your sales history tells you they are buying.

Double Up in Your Best Locations

When you are fortunate enough to have a location selling out faster than you can stock the machine, don't let customers walk away empty handed because the flavour they want is sold out. Add a second machine to your best locations to handle the overflow trade.

When a Site is a Loser, move It

Just as it is important to place more machines in hot locations, equally essential is to pull machines out of those worst ten percent of spots. Inventory is limited to the number of machines owned. Machines that don't return highly enough need to be placed in a better location. Constantly cutting off the lowest 10% of locations results in constantly increasing sales overall.
