During my 19 years in vending I have seen many mistakes made by many vending machine operators, but there is one mistake being made time and time again with dire consequences. It is so easy to get overwhelmed by the choice and style of the many various flashy vending machines available, and being human we are all affected by personal preference and the odd bit of chrome or glitz, BUT I have some really bad news for you...

The fact is that it is the SITE that earns you revenue and profit - NO site = NO profit.

Now this may sound obvious, but operators tend to get carried away with the equipment and tend to forget about the importance of sites until they realise that most of their vendors are in the garage and not earning money! I learnt this point myself many years ago, so when we created the Vending Revolution business format, it was from this point that we started. When I started all those years back 20% was normal, now as sites have got harder to get commission levels have risen higher and higher, we have had some recent new Franchisee's join us who admit to paying 40% to win a site. This level of desperation may get you a site but all you earn is a basic living but NO PROFIT, and it is profit that enables you to grow your business and gives you the lifestyle you went into business to enjoy.
